Getting ready for our newborn photography session
Stay with your routine feeding
Food is the most basic source for energy and keeping warm. For newborn babies to be sleeping through their photography session, it is most important to keep them well fed. Understanding your baby is about knowing how much your baby is drinking at each intervals be it 2~3 hourly.
In newborn photography session, it is different from the usual day to day feeding routine because your baby is brought out from his swaddle. And he will be awaken because of temperature difference. A well fed baby will resume sleep very quickly, going through the photo session. On the contrary, a baby will show signs of discomfort if he felt cold because he wasn’t fed adequately for his body to build up energy and heat.
For newborn photo session to work well, we recommend the use of bottle during the photo session. This will not make any changes to your baby habits or stop your baby from latching after the photo session. By default, a five hours session with us only require two feedings.
If you are first time parents, you can read more about food and immunity for newborn baby in our article below:

Keep them away from air-con and fans
When your baby is still in your womb, your amniotic fluid regulates your baby’s body temperature. It is important to know that newborn baby below two weeks of age aren’t able to regulate their body temperature as well which is why they were swaddled.
In newborn photography sessions, babies are not swaddle, thus it is not recommended to turn on any fans or air-conditioner.
